What are the penalties under Jordan's PDPL?

Two routes. Administratively, fines of up to JOD 500 for each day a violation continues, capped at 3% of the previous fiscal year's total annual revenue (Art. 21). Criminally, a court can impose a fine of JOD 1,000 to JOD 10,000 (Art. 22). The revenue cap means exposure grows with the size of the business.

The administrative route starts with a warning from the Unit, so what a business can show at that point, such as consent records, matters. The court fine is doubled in repeated cases (Art. 22).
