Does Jordan require consent for cookies?
For cookies that identify a visitor, yes. Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 24 of 2023) has no clause on cookies or online privacy, but it defines consent as the data subject's prior consent to processing. Cookies that identify a person carry personal data, so analytics and advertising cookies wait for the visitor's yes.
Marketing is spelled out: data may not be passed on for marketing products or services unless the person has consented for that purpose (Art. 14).
Valid consent is explicit, documented in writing or electronically, and specific about its purpose and duration (Art. 5). Strictly necessary cookies that a site needs to work are a different case.
