Gulf privacy questions

Can I transfer personal data outside Jordan?

Not to a recipient whose protection is lower than the law's, unless an exception in Article 15 applies, such as judicial cooperation, medical treatment, public health, or the person's consent after being told the protection is insufficient. Sending visitor data to analytics or advertising platforms abroad is a transfer, and it can also require a data protection officer (Art. 11).

Before transferring, the controller checks the level of protection the recipient offers (Art. 15). Passing data on to another party needs the person's consent, and passing it on for marketing needs consent for that purpose (Art. 14).
