Who enforces Qatar's data protection law?
The National Cyber Governance and Assurance Affairs, part of Qatar's National Cyber Security Agency, administers and enforces the Personal Data Privacy Protection Law. In January 2021 the regulator published fourteen guidelines for organisations, plus separate guidance for individuals, setting out what the law expects in practice.
Companies in the Qatar Financial Centre sit under a different regulator and a different text: the QFC Data Protection Regulations 2021, in force since June 2022.
