What are the fines under Qatar's PDPPL?
Administrative fines of up to QAR 1,000,000 for general violations of the law, and up to QAR 5,000,000 where the violation involves data of a special nature or children's personal data. Unlike Saudi Arabia's PDPL, Qatar's law carries no imprisonment: its penalties are financial only.
Data of a special nature includes health, ethnicity, religious belief and criminal records. The regulator can also order a business to correct or stop processing that breaks the law, independently of any fine.
