Who enforces Bahrain's data protection law?
The Personal Data Protection Authority, under the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, supervises and enforces the Personal Data Protection Law. It published supplementary guidelines in 2022 on consent, notification duties and website cookie banners, and it can publish statements about established violations and refer suspected crimes to the Public Prosecutor.
Some processing activities need prior notification to the Authority or its authorisation, so check whether yours is one of them before you start.
