Do Salla and Zid stores need a cookie banner?
Yes, if the store runs analytics or advertising tags, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads or the Meta Pixel. The platform does not change the law: under the PDPL those tags normally need the visitor's explicit, informed consent before they run, asked for each purpose, recorded, and open to withdrawal at any time.
The requirement is the same on Salla, Zid, Shopify and WordPress: a banner that asks before analytics and advertising tags run, a record of each choice, settings that stay reachable so consent can be withdrawn, and the choice passed to Google tags through Consent Mode v2. What differs is how the banner reaches your store.
Most Saudi stores do not ask yet. In the September 2026 KSA E-Commerce Privacy Compliance Index, 1,065 of 1,556 Saudi storefronts scanned (68%) loaded tracking before the visitor gave consent.

On Zid, the Arqam360 app connects through Zid's own sign-in, creates your account with Arabic as the default language, adds the banner through Zid's app snippet with no theme edit, and bills through Zid. The Salla app is in Salla's review and not yet listed in the Salla App Store; once installed, it reaches the storefront through Salla's app snippets.
